COLOUR Dark purple red. AROMATICS Rich plum and mocha aromas with mushroom and savoury notes. PALATE Medium bodied and mellow with well integrated savoury and fruity flavours, subdued charry oak notes and softly enveloping dusty tannins. OAK MATURATION Blended from components matured from 6 to 13 months in new and older oak from a variety of European and American forests. AGEING POTENTIAL Intended for early drinking, but the balance and underlying fruit will cater for short to medium term ageing – up to around 5 years.
VINTAGE 2009 An extended warm and sunny autumn after the 2008 vintage allowed the vines to accumulate good energy stores for the 2009 season so that, despite erratic weather all winter and through to early summer, solid growth and good crops developed. From mid-summer the weather moderated and near perfect conditions prevailed through most of the ripening season to well beyond harvest. The early, trying, conditions demanded continuing close attention to vine health throughout the season, but this care was rewarded with generally good yields of outstanding fruit
