COLOUR Inky crimson. AROMATICS Dense aromas of spiced plums and vanilla. PALATE Smooth and unctuous, with a rich creamy frutiness, delicately balanced acid, hints of fine structural tannins and an unobtrusive sweetness on the finish. OAK MATURATION Between 4 and 9 months in new Croatian, French and American barriques. AGEING POTENTIAL Intended for early enjoyment while revelling in the full flush of youthful exuberance, but will undoubtedly mature gracefully for years if you can wait.
VINTAGE 2009 An extended warm sunny autumn after the 2008 vintage allowed the vines to accumulate good energy stores for the 2009 season so that, despite erratic weather all winter and through to early summer, solid growth and good crops developed. At last, from mid-summer, the weather moderated and near perfect conditions prevailed through most of the ripening season to well beyond harvest. The early, trying, conditions demanded continuing close attention to vine health throughout the season, but this care was rewarded by generally good yields of outstanding fruit.
